For Immediate Release Contact: Shannon Young; Office: 801-377-2494, Cell: 801-362-5362 shannon.young@foreverybody.com October 5, 2005 Lindon, Utah- For the fourth consecutive year, a Utah-based candle company has focused its efforts on raising awareness of breast cancer to help women learn more about the disease and how they can prevent it. This year For Every Body donated 1,500 breast cancer candles to hospitals in Utah at the beginning of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each woman who receives a mammogram throughout the month will receive a free candle. Each of the pink, nine ounce candles is accompanied by a postcard with facts about breast cancer. The plumeria scented candle is called "Hope for a Cure." It was created in 1999 to support the crusade against breast cancer. It is sold in several different retail locations throughout the United States. A portion of all proceeds go toward breast cancer research. According to Becky Lunceford, owner and founder of For Every Body, breast cancer awareness is something all women should be more informed about. "I have been touched by the stories I've heard from some of our employees who had someone in their families who have suffered from breast cancer," Lunceford said. "I feel very strongly about creating better awareness in our community and nationwide on how to detect breast cancer early." According to the National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organization, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women in the United States and every woman is at risk. If the cancer is detected early, it can be treated. Mammography screening cannot prevent or cure breast cancer, but it may discover breast cancer before the symptoms occur. "Hope for a Cure" candles can also be purchased at any of For Every Body's Utah locations or at www.foreverybody.com. For Every Body is a bath and body and candle manufacturer established in 1995 by Becky Lunceford. It began in her kitchen and has grown into one of the largest privately held candle manufacturers in the country. They are in twelve nationwide show rooms and have more than 120 national sales representatives. For Every Body also employs about 200 people and still runs three retail stores in Lindon, Orem and Draper, Utah. ### About the Author For Every Body is a candle manufacturer based in Lindon.
